The Andaz Maui quickly became one of my favorite hotels… Starting with the simple but dramatic walkway to the lobby you are greeted with lavender lemonade (yum) & check in is done, not at the counter but, on the couch as you take in the fabulous pool to ocean view.
Rooms: All include a lanai/balcony & possibly the best rainfall shower on the planet+ amazing toiletries to boot. Made for the millennial there are plenty of plugs and usb ports for all your gadgets. The minibar is complimentary and restocked daily so take advantage of the yummy snacks. Multiple bedroom villas are also available on property.
Dining: Ka’ana is a farm to table sharing concept where I had some of the best dishes of my trip: Ahi Tataki, Grilled Octopus, Wagyu Hanger…I could go on. This is also the spot for their very extensive buffet breakfast, at $47 per person its pricey but worth it! Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto opened his namesake restaurant at Andaz with great dishes & best sunset views. While relaxing by the pool the Lobster Grilled Cheese was the most recommended dish and it did not disappoint. If you need a late night option the Mokapu Market is open 24hrs and offers light fare & fun shopping.
Activities: Tons of options are included in the $40 resort fee but my favorites are the Outrigger Canoe Paddle where you are sure to encounter sea turtles, paddle board lessons & GoPro rentals!
Spa: At the start of all treatments you meet with a consultant that assists in blending and creating personal products for your spa or salon service, I was fortunate enough to create a scrub with my choice of Marigold, Yuzu, Amber & Lavender that I can now take home & will be on file for future visits!
Overall this 5 Star property has a very laid back island vibe that makes you feel more at home instead of a resort. From the casual check in, to the sporty pool staff uniforms and even the “resident dog” Bella this is a property I can’t wait to return to.
