Grand Velas Los Cabos - The JetSet Redhead

Grand Velas Los Cabos

Can you believe this was my first time to Cabo…and I will be forever spoiled as I was invited down to celebrate the AAA Five Diamond award for Grand Velas Los Cabo. I am a massive fan of the brand Velas Resorts from my time in Puerto Vallarta so couldn’t wait to check out their new property! Not sure where to start so let’s get right to it….

SUITES: I say suites as entry level starts at over 1,000sq ft! All come with your typical luxury amenities along with a 24hr personal concierge but highlighted categories include Grand Class– adult only located ocean front w/ private plunge pool, Wellness Suite– two stories w/ workout equipment & specialize menu and of course the Presidential Suite– 5,400 sq ft of space with dining, living and bar area. The largest walk in shower I have ever seen and two terraces with plunge pools over looking the sea of cortez.

DINING: don’t let the All Inclusive tag line fool you- this place has elevated the game when it comes to dining. Cocina de Autor– led by a 2 star Michelin chef this 10+ course tasting menu (w/ optional wine pairings $50pp) …the first bite Tuna Bubble is still a highlight of the trip. VELAS 10- beachfront surf & turf and make sure you get the truffle mac & cheese. You also have Frida for contemporary Mexican, Piaf for wonderful French cuisine and Lucca for authentic Italian. Don’t miss the morning buffet at AZUL with any pastry you can imagine and room service breakfast on the balcony is a must.

SPA: on our last day most splurged on a treatment and for the rest of the evening that’s what everyone couldn’t stop talking about.  Even the water ceremony of the sensation pool, sauna (smelled like cinnamon), ice room followed by steam was luxurious.

ACTIVITIES: this is a family friendly property so the kids/teens clubs are great when the adults want to head down the serenity pool for some papering. You will love Alejandro: *1pm is a relaxing treatment of cool cucumbers on the eyes accompanied by a fresh face towel. *3pm is sunglass cleaning- I (pun intended) looked forward to this everyday as you never realize how grimy your sunnies get poolside.
