It is a must that if you visit Ireland you visit the Ring of Kerry. Located in the Southwestern part of the island the ring can is best accessed from the town of Killarney. I checked into the family run Killarney Royal right in the center of town which made walking to dinner/shops very convenient.
Besides the driving around and taking in the amazing scenery there are a few spots to visit nearby:
Muckross House
Inside the Killarney National Park you can visit the house along with the gardens & grounds along with hopping on a jaunting cart to ride from the house over to Torc Waterfall.
Kenmare
Great little village with shops and pubs-I picked up some hunter boots that didn’t come in as handy as I thought with the fabulous weather we had.

Lorge Chocolatier
About 10 min outside of Kenmare in the middle of nowhere there is a quaint shop selling the most delectable chocolates around…for someone like me this was a pleasant pit stop.
Adare
Visit the charming town consisting of thatched roofed cottages, grab lunch at The Blue Door and stop by for a visit to the 5 Star Adare Manor.
