A hidden gem near Ranthambhore National park is the Oberoi Vanyavilas. I stayed here for 2 nights to experience Tiger Safari, and although I would not recommend it for clients looking for a true safari experience (unlike South Africa) the Oberoi property was incredible.
We were greeted with a shower of rose pedals as we entered the courtyard and the lovely General Manager Ratna made sure our every request was attended to. Our itinerary included game drives, shopping at Dhonk: known for their block printing and a private tea lesson.
Every room on property is a luxury tent that are spread out across 20 acres of lush landscape that also includes a spa, main dining room and observation tower that treats you to panoramic views. The biggest (pun intended) feature of the property are “the girls” that greet you after game drives…Mala & Lakshmi- these incredible animals were rescued and now cared for by Oberoi.
If you have a few days in your Indian Itinerary to go off the beaten path I highly recommend Vanyavilas but unless you are lucky like me don’t count on seeing a Royal Bengal Tiger…
