If you visit Dubai and do not take a day trip over to Abu Dhabi you are missing out. The biggest attraction has to be the incredible Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, it is the third largest mosque in the world but considered one of the most beautiful- I must agree. Named after the founder and first president of the UAE (also his resting place) the Mosque includes 83 domes, the largest hand knotted carpet in the world along with the worlds largest Swarovski crystal chandeliers. A marvel that is a must to visit.
TIP: Dress accordingly when with a private guide or group as they have limited abayas for rent. Plan to remove your shoes upon entrance. Avoid visiting on Friday as the mosque is closed for worship in the morning.
