I remember visiting Sacré-Cœur back when I first came to Paris but taking the day to explore the area of Montmartre was a treat- and highly recommended. Start the day by taking the Metro to Abbeses (Tip: this is the deepest metro in Paris so take the elevator…you will encounter plenty of stairs while exploring) which will pop you up a few blocks from the base of the basilica. From there wander your way up and around stopping by cute cafes and fun street art:

La Maison Rose, 2, Rue de L’Abreuvoir: charming light pink café you have probably seen all over Instagram. (guilty)

Le Consulat, 18 Rue Novins: corner of this walking street lined with tons of shops & cafes – very touristy but worth a stroll

Grenouilles, 55 Fue du Chevalier de la Barre: perfect spot to pull over for a craft beer on a warm day

Le Refuge des Fondues, 17 Rue des Trios Freres :only open for dinner so sadly missed but came highly recommended

Moulin Rouge, 82 Blvd de Clichy: I mean you’re in the neighborhood…might as well see the famous windmill
